PuTTY for Symbian OS - Snapshots and Unofficial Builds

This page contains development snapshots and unofficial builds for PuTTY for Symbian OS. Development snapshots are mainly intended for developers or users who need features not in official releases yet. Unofficial builds contain patches that for some reason or another are not suitable to be included in the official releases, but may be useful for some users. Some of these builds haven't been fully tested.

See the project home page for official releases. Unless you need some of the features added to these unofficial builds, use the official releases.

If you are using an S60 5th edition phone, such as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic or N97, check out Risto Avila's PuTTY Touch UI, it works a lot better on touch phones than the regular releases.

Development Snapshots

Some PuTTY for Symbian OS v1.6 development snapshots are now available. Supported devices vary per snapshot.

• Version 1.6 Development Snapshot, 16 January 2011 (revision 82): Vibrating bell, UI cleanup and minor fixes

• Version 1.6 Development Snapshot, 3 January 2011: Fixes crashes and broken settings after closing PuTTY with the red "end" key on 5th edition, adds a number of features to 3rd ed.
